Crownbet join forces with Racing Victoria and Seven in huge boost

Online bookmaker Crownbet.com.au has added another big string to its bow with the announcement it will become the premier betting partner for Racing Victoria and the Seven Network.

From August 31, 2015 until the end of 2016, CrownBet – the only 100% Australian-owned online betting operator – will hold premier wagering rights on all Victorian race meets broadcasted on Racing.com’s television channel and online streaming service.

Racing.com has live free-to-air broadcasting rights for 498 Racing Victoria events, including 102 metropolitan and 396 regional race days, and there are plans for a move to subscription TV with Foxtel.

The partnership also grants Crownbet exclusive in-telecast integration rights for the Seven Network’s thoroughbred racing coverage in Victoria and New South Wales throughout 2016, with the exception of the Australia Cup and the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

That includes 21 scheduled race meets, starting with C F Orr Stakes at Caulfield in February and ending with the Sandown Classic in mid November.

CrownBet chief executive Matthew Tripp said: “It was a thorough and competitive process and we’re delighted Racing Victoria and the Seven Network have chosen CrownBet as their Premier Wagering Partner.”

The deal represents a massive coup for the Packer family’s bookmaking branch, which has made big strides since taking over BetEasy.com.au late last year.

Crownbet is already the official AFL betting partner in an agreement that runs until 2019, and also has affiliations with Football Federation Australia (FFA), the National Rugby League (NRL), Cricket Australia, Tennis Australia and Netball Australia.

Tripp continued: “This partnership will allow us to reach a wide audience right across Australia, and will play an important role in our mission to become the leading operator in the sector.”

The news comes hot on the heels of Crownbet.com signing on as the official wagering partner for Country Racing Victoria, which was announced last week.

CRV marketing manager Darren Galley said: “We’re delighted to team up with CrownBet as our new wagering partner.

“We hope our customers will make full use of their offers and expertise when they have a bet on the country races.

“They’ve already shown their willingness to support country racing in Victoria and we look forward to working with them to do just that.”
