Randwick Race 4: #8 Montefilia @ $1.85

Our best bet of the day Montefilia looks to be a class above for a majority of her rivals in the Hill Stakes and outside of Cascadian being her main rival, she looks to be the bet of the weekend anywhere in the country. Numerian is set to go around in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington, so it is down to a race in two in the Group 2 event. She won the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes during the autumn second-up from a spell when putting two-lengths on Verry Elleegant and that field literally jumps off the paper in a race like this. She has missed the top three just once in five races when second-up and with a more than serviceable wet track record, Montefilia should be putting a space on a majority of her rivals. Flemington Race 2: #7 Visinari @ $1.90

We do not need to wait too long for our best bet of the day as the Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained Visinari returns in the Listed Paris Lane Stakes. The five-year-old gelding returns from a short four-month spell and was last seen finishing a half-length off subsequent Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes placegetter Tuvalu back in June. He won three times and finished second on the other two starts from his five-start winter campaign and if he is anywhere near the level he produced earlier in the year, Visinari looks to have bigger fish to fry this campaign then just at Listed level. From barrier eight, look for Jamie Kah to have this guy settled outside the leader throughout and considering he already has two wins to his name when fresh, Visinari should prove too good for this lot.

Eagle Farm Race 8: #8 Mob Buster @ $3.10

Our best bet of the day at Eagle Farm will be in race eight, where the Kelly Schweida-trained Mob Buster takes his place in a Benchmark 90 Handicap over 1600m. This five-year-old gelding has won his last two starts at 1400m and 1600m at Eagle Farm and Doomben, respectively, winning those races by a combined total of 0.4 lengths. This son of Spill The Beans has won five of his 15 starts, and he has a good record at this track with two wins and two minor placings from five starts. Ryan Maloney will take the ride today, and if he can be midfield from the jump and hitting the outside on the home turn, we should see Mob Buster getting the chocolates again.

Morphettville Race 4: #5 Yuri Royale @ $3.00

Our best bet on the program in South Australia comes up in race seven with the Richard & Chantelle Jolly-trained Yuri Royale trying to win his third race in four starts. This five-year-old gelding has recorded five wins from 16 starts, with four of those wins coming at 1600m. This son of Good Journey was in great form with two seconds and two wins from his first four starts this preparation before getting no luck in the Listed Balaklava Cup last start, finishing seventh. The talented Victorian-based apprentice Alana Kelly will take her first ride on this guy, and if she can have him peeling wide on the bend, we should be seeing Yuri Royale winning again.

Kalgoorlie Race 6: #2 Excellent Dream @ $2.80

Our best bet of the day comes up in the opening leg of the quaddie when the Luke Fernie-trained Excellent Dream looks to build on his impressive first-up effort at Belmont. The six-year-old gelding managed hit the line strongly over 1200m in the Nicopolis Stakes and was only lipped out by Comes A Time. He looks perfectly placed as by Fernie as he steps up to 1300m for the first time in his career and from barrier three draws to gain a gun run in transit under Holly Watson. The Dream Ahead gelding will need a touch of luck on the home turn, but if he gains clear air at the right time, Excellent Dream looks to have a fair bit on his rivals and looks a clear best bet of the day.
