The second of two Big Bash League Friday blockbusters will see the Brisbane Heat take on the Melbourne Stars at Gold Coast’s Metricon Stadium.

These two teams are the favourites in the BBL outright odds, leading to the dead-even prices for this clash at most online bookmakers.

A big bounce back is necessary from the Heat after what can only be labelled as a failure against the Sydney Thunder on opening night in front of their home crowd.

Although many of the best Melbourne Stars players will leave for international duty partway through the campaign, they have plenty of top-end talent available for the first phase of the season.

Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Peter Handscomb, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Nic Maddison, Adam Zampa, Ben Dunk and Hilton Cartwright have all represented Australia, whilst Sandeep Lamichhane and Dale Steyn add some serious international quality.
