Tryscorer tips for Storm vs. Broncos NRL Preliminary Final

2017 NRL Finals betting tips

ONE name stands out in big, bold letters in the first tryscorer betting for Friday night’s preliminary final in Melbourne.

However, a surprise inclusion for the Brisbane Broncos could add some real spice to the market.

Let’s see what the bookies are offering.

Melbourne Storm first tryscorer odds

$7 – Josh Addo-Carr, Suliasi Vunivalu

$11 – Billy Slater

$13 – Will Chambers, Curtis Scott

$19 – Cooper Cronk, Cameron Munster

$23 – Kenny Bromwich, Dale Finucane, Tohu Harris, Felise Kaufusi

$34 – Nelson Afosa-Solomona, Tim Glasby, Slade Griffin

$41 – Jordan McLean, Cameron Smith

As the highest-scoring team in the NRL this year, the Storm are awash with attacking threats.

Josh Addo-Carr has enjoyed a breakout season following his switch from Wests Tigers, notching 20 tries in 25 appearances on the wing.

Billy Slater and Felise Kaufusi have scored eight apiece, while Will Chambers (seven) and Cooper Cronk (six) have also made key contributions going forward.

Crownbet $400-$600 special

But the man the Broncos must stop at all costs is Suliasi Vunivalu, who leads the NRL Premiership with 23 tries this season.

He brought some outrageous form into the finals before going scoreless against the Parramatta Eels.

Prior to that, the Fijian star had managed to find the line in six consecutive games.

Ladbrokes.com.au is paying $7 for Vunivalu to break the deadlock, but you can pump that price up to $8.50 with the Odds Boost feature.

Brisbane Broncos tryscorer betting tips

$15 – Corey Oates

$17 – Jordan Kahu

$18 – James Roberts

$23 – Darius Boyd

$26 – Benji Marshall, Anthony Milford, Tautau Moga, Kodi Nikorima

$31 – Ben Hunt, Matt Gillett

$34 – Alex Glenn

$56 – Herman Ese’ese, Joe Ofahengaue, Tevita Pangai Jr, Sam Thaiday

$81 – Adam Blair, Josh McGuire

Anyone who saw the state Corey Oates was in last week would have said we was no chance to front up for the prelims.

The crowd at Lang Park gasped and winced in collective horror at video replays of the Broncos winger’s stomach-churning collision with Anthony Milford.

And yet, somehow, Oates has ticked enough boxes in training to get his name on the team sheet for the trip to Victoria.

If the medicos are happy with his progress throughout the week, the Queensland rep will start on Friday night as Brisbane’s $15 favourite in the first tryscorer market at Sportsbet.

But is Oates really the best option?

James Roberts ($18) has been prolific at centre with 18 tries this season, while Jordan Kahu ($17) has made a habit of striking early in games.

Those two are both paying $3.40 in the anytime tryscorer market, which is a far safer option when you consider the quality of Brisbane’s opposition.
