THE Melbourne Storm have named an unchanged 21 for Friday’s preliminary blockbuster at Swan Street.

While online bookmakers have Craig Bellamy’s men slated as overwhelming favourites to reach the NRL Grand Final, the home camp is keeping a tight lid on expectations.

Storm star Will Chambers said on Monday that it would be foolish to write off the Brisbane Broncos, regardless of Melbourne’s impressive record on their own patch.

“People start calling them the underdogs, well that’s crazy,” Chambers told reporters.

“They’ve played finals footy the last couple of years as well. They might not be at home, but it will be an ever par.

“They’ve got a class team, if we don’t turn up and defend well and make sure we play well for 80 minutes they’re a team that can put a lot of points on you very fast.”

The Broncos have rung the changes after their semi-final victory over the Penrith Panthers.

Darius Boyd returns at fullback, with Kodi Nikorima switching to halfback, Benji Marshall moving to the bench and David Mead dropping to the reserves.

Tevita Pangai Jr. is named on the interchange at the expense of Jai Arrow.

One surprise is the inclusion of Corey Oates, who was stretchered off the field last week after a sickening collision with teammate Anthony Milford.

Critics have slammed the Broncos for risking the young winger’s long-term health, but club medicos insist he is tracking well in every department.

“At this point, he is absolutely fine,” said Jeremy Hickmans, Brisbane’s high-performance manager.

“Corey had his cognitive tests (on Monday) and passed with flying colours.

“Corey passed those tests, then he did some cardio and light skills.

“We will do some contact work (on Wednesday) and if there’s no adverse reaction to it, Corey will be fine to play.

“At the moment Corey is OK, but it could change, we don’t know. Concussions shift all the time.

“There’s no real reason to rule Corey out at the moment.”

NRL Same Game Multi tips for Storm vs. Broncos

Multi pays $8.75 at Sportsbet.com.au

If you pick a NRL Same Game Multi of three or more legs at Sportsbet this week, the bookie will give you back up to $50 in bonus bets if only one leg fails.

We have gone for a straightforward treble that offers great value despite its simplicity.

Anchoring the ship is Suli Vunivalu, who had scored in six games on the trot when Parramatta kept him off the sheet in the first week of finals.

The Fijian jet has 23 tries this NRL Premiership season and has not gone more than two games in a row without finding the line, so back him in.

Some are predicting a blowout at AAMI Park, but it would be no surprise if the trend of tight tussles continued.

We are tipping a moderate scoreline with Melbourne getting up by the odd try or so.
