Sydney Sixers v Hobart Hurricanes Betting Preview
Sunday, January 24 2021
The Sydney Sixers will host the Hobart Hurricanes at the MCG on Sunday night as the Big Bash heats up as we close in on the finals series. The top of the ladder Sixers are $1.80 favourites whilst odds of $2.05 are available for the Hurricanes to cause an upset.
The Sydney Sixers have been boasted by the addition of Australian squad members Moises Henriques and Sean Abbott in recent days, with the pair being integral to the overall success the Sixers have produced in the 10 seasons of the Big Bash. Having already sewn up a spot in the BBL10 finals, the Sixers will be looking to fine tune any issues they may have in the lead up to the finals. A win against the Hurricanes will all but sew up a top place finish and a spot in ‘The Qualifier’.
Hobart on the other hand need to produce a big performance if they wish to play finals in BBL10. Whilst they have picked up the services of Matthew Wade back from his test duties, and to a lesser extent Tim Paine, the Hurricanes will need results to go their way if they wish to feature in the BBL10 finals. The best way for them to get into the finals is with a win over the Sixers, but after a poor performance against the Scorchers it looks to be too little too late for then men in purple.
Sixers vs Hurricanes Top Betting Tips
Sydney Sixers To Win
Without a doubt the Sydney Sixers have been the best team in BBL10, and with a win against the Hobart Hurricanes on Sunday night it will ensure they finish at the top of the table. The Hurricanes will need to take more risks than usual in a must win game for Hobart, and that’s where the professional outfit of the Sixers will look to take full advantage. With an international quality bowling attack and a red hot Josh Philippe at the top of the order, they look a good play at $1.80.
Moises Henriques to make 20+ runs
Throughout his whole career, Moises Henriques has been one consistent player in Twenty20 cricket. He averages a tick under 27 with the bat in the shortest format, and he will only be better for the run on Friday night against the Sydney Thunder. With a white ball tour of New Zealand coming up in February, Henriques will look to solidify his spot in the team with consistent scores in the back end of BBL10.
Tim David to make 20+ runs
A surprise packet in BBL10 has been Tim David with his ability to close out an innings for the Hobart Hurricanes. Coming off a rapid 27 against the Perth Scorchers, we are backing Tim David to make another handy contribution with the bat. The all-rounder from Singapore averages 37 with the bat in Twenty20 cricket and will look to give life to Hurricanes season.
