The Saturday Slingshot presented by Bettingsite.com.au is here and it brings you the best bets for horse racing in Australia on Saturday, November 25, 2023 to help you launch into a winning weekend on the punt.

All odds are provided by leading online bookmakers recommended by Bettingsite.com.au

Ascot Race 2: #9 Playz With Fire @ +270

Playz With Fire kicked off this preparation with consecutive second-place finishes over 1200m and will step up in distance to 1400m third-up, where he appears to have found a very winnable race. Last start, this five-year-old mare settled too far back and had to wait for a gap to appear in a wall of horses at the top of the home straight before letting down with a blistering turn of foot over the final 200m. This daughter of Playing God has drawn barrier four and should be able to settle much closer to the speed. With William Pike retaining the ride, Playz With Fire should prove very hard to hold out.

Kembla Grange Race 9: #5 Headwall @ +300

Headwall has never missed the frame in six career starts, and we’re confident that trend will continue as he returns after 224 days off the scene. The now four-year-old has been terrific at the barrier trials, going on to score in his latest at Rosehill on November 6. Blake Spriggs will be searching for a soft run in transit from barrier four, and provided he can gain a mid-field position with cover, Headwall will be producing a stunning turn of foot late in the afternoon.

Cranbourne Race 2 #2 Wiggum @ +220

Travis Doudle’s Wiggum was a strong winner during the Melbourne Cup Carnival in arguably a tougher race that he faces on Saturday. The three-year-old gelding got the better of Barber down the Flemington straight over 1000m, and stepping up to the 1200m fourth-up looks to be a recipe for success. He gains the services of Damian Lane for the first time, and from barrier five the pair can stalk what looks to be a chaotic pace on paper. With even luck, Wiggum should prove too hard to hold out once again.

Doomben Race 8: #13 Zarastro @ +135

After finishing second in the Keith Noud Quality last start, the Tony Gollan-trained Zarastro will be seeking his first black-type win at the third time of asking. This five-year-old gelding led the field up last start and was only beaten by Extremist, who settled behind him and took over with 150m to go. This son of I Am Invincible has drawn wide in barrier 13 but has the speed to overcome that and should be able to find the front upon settling. With Angela Jones staying in the saddle, Zarastro will hug the rail at the top of the home straight and give a strong kick to lead all the way to victory.

Morphettville Race 7: #2 Queman @ +250

Queman has strung together two impressive wins to begin his campaign and now steps up to the 1200m. The five-year-old gelding managed to stalk the speed throughout over 1000m on November 11 before producing a strong finishing burst to put 2.5 lengths on his rivals. He draws in barrier eight on Saturday, and Justin Potter should have no issue landing the son of Mint Lane in a plumb spot once again. If Queman can replicate his last two efforts, he should be bringing up a third win in as many starts.
