The quarter finals for the 2022 Rugby League World Cup kick off Saturday morning (6:30am AEDT) in Huddersfield with the Australian Kangaroos taking on the Lebanon Cedars. The Kangaroos come into the match in red hot form having won their last two games by a total margin of 150-6. Meanwhile, the sails of this Lebanon side are full of win having beaten Ireland and belted Jamaica in their last two starts.

The momentum gathered by these Lebanese side was shown by Adam Doueihi when he declared during the week that Lebanon “showed we can match it with the World No. 1 side at the moment, New Zealand… we will be doing that this week and finding some deficiencies in the Aussie team and try to exploit them”.

Australia head coach Mal Meninga has opted to leave Ben Hunt, Jeremiah Nanai, Matt Burton, Murray Taulagi and Reagan Campbell-Gillard out of the starting side to bring in Harry Grant, Angus Crichton, Jake Trbojevic, Josh Addo-Carr, and Patrick Carrigan. Most notably for the Kangaroos, Daly Cherry-Evans has been named to start at halfback with Cameron Munster in the halves, with Nathan Cleary coming off the bench.

Australia come into this match as red hot favourites and rightly so given the side they have named to take on Lebanon. However, the Lebanese side have shown at points this World Cup they are more than capable of matching it with a side like the Kangaroos physically and will be highly motivated to do so. The Kangaroos simply have too many superstars in their side to be beaten by Lebanon and should go on to win this match by 41-50 points at $3.90 with BetOnline.

Campbell Graham made his international debut this World Cup scoring five tries in two games and will be marking up against the incredibly experienced Josh Mansour. For all the experience Mansour has, he is not known as the aerial target that Graham is. Doueihi has now tasked himself with outplaying arguably the greatest rugby league player on the planet in Munster, who has an immense running game and an ability to consistently create something from nothing. Doueihi will have to have one of the greatest games of his whole career if he is to outplay Munster and lift Lebanon to an unlikely victory.
