Maher didn’t know conman owned horses
Trainer Ciaron Maher did not know convicted conman Peter Foster owned five horses he was training but should have asked questions, a tribunal has heard.
Racing Victoria stewards want Maher disqualified after he pleaded guilty to conduct prejudicial to the image, interests or welfare of racing.
The Caulfield trainer has apologised for his conduct and his barrister has told the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board he should not be disqualified.
