Godolphin’s Kementari arrives in Melbourne
Godolphin colt Kementari has already been sent to Melbourne, ruling out the $1 million Golden Rose in Sydney.
The James Cummings-trained colt was initially considered a Golden Rose prospect but the Godolphin team has changed tack with the three-year-old after announcing he had travelled to Melbourne for the Caulfield Guineas Prelude.
“Kementari has arrived in Melbourne in good order,” Godolphin said on Twitter on Monday morning.
The post added Kerrin McEvoy had been booked to ride Kementari in the Guineas Prelude at Caulfield.
The Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) is on October 1, 13 days before the Group One Caulfield Guineas (1600m) at the same track.
Kementari, the winner of one of his three starts, finished fourth to Golden Rose favourite Menari when he resumed from a spell in the Run To The Rose (1200m) at Rosehill on September 9.
He is at $17 for the Caulfield Guineas with unbeaten colt Royal Symphony the $3 favourite.
