This is the scenario with which Man United have struggled all season: a home fixture against a very beatable team.

Stoke, Burnley, West Ham, Hull, Bournemouth, West Brom – all of those ended in draws, as did dates with Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton.

Yet the Red Devils remain unbeaten in the Premier League since October, and a result against Man City on Friday morning would put them in prime position to vault into the Champions League places.

Swansea might well count themselves unlucky to have made no progress in their fight for survival.

What we have learned about Everton this season is that they are far too good for mid-table yet someways short of challenging for the top four.

While they have not lost in four games, the Toffees were very poor in last weekend’s goalless draw away at West Ham.

Seamus Coleman and Ramiro Funes Mori are significant absentees in the back half, but only the most foolish of punters would write the Merseysiders off entirely with Romelu Lukaku leading the line.

Chelsea did not have it all their own way against Southampton, but the 4-2 scoreline is not a true reflection of what was a rather dominant second-half display.

Diego Costa was back on the score sheet in midweek, striking twice, while in-form playmakers Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard impressed once again.

Everton are no easybeats, but they will have their work cut out against a Chelsea side that cannot afford anymore slip-ups in the run home.

Spurs are leaving nothing in the tank as they look to snatch the 2016-17 Premier League title from Chelsea’s grasp.

A win this weekend would be doubly delightful for Mauricio Pochettino and co. as it would pile the pressure back on the Blues whilst also throwing Arsenal’s top-four prospects into serious doubt.

Alexis Sanchez was poor until being shifted wide to accommodate Olivier Giroud after half-time, so one wonders how the under-fire Arsene Wenger will set his side out for the short jaunt to White Hart Lane.

The big worry for Arsenal is the fitness of Laurent Koscielny, who limped out of the Thursday’s clash with a knee problem that could sideline him for the derby.

There is, however, a key stat that may reassure Gunners fans: Tottenham have beaten them only once in their last nine meetings in all competitions.
