As Penrith start to get into record-breaking territory with their win streak, their 12th should be their easiest.

There’s an old saying that goes, “With every win, you are closer to a loss.” I’m not sure you can apply that thinking when the lava-hot Panthers are taking on one of the worst teams in the NRL era.

The $5.75 for a -40.5 line on Penrith is going to prove awfully tempting, and there is a precedent for lopsided scores in consecutive weeks.

In rounds 10 and 11, the Brisbane Broncos lost by 48 and 38 points respectively. Given one of those losses was to the Tigers, you’d have to believe another heavy defeat is on the cards.

If this one follows the script, the over/under of 48.5 points is going to be trickier to predict thank you might think.

Penrith’s defence has been elite all season, so you’d have to be super confident the Panthers will rack up 50 points and someone wearing a Broncos jumper falls over the line.
