Best multi odds & betting specials for NBA Week 1
WEEK one of the 2017/18 NBA regular season commences with a fantastic set of fixtures.
Title favourites Golden State and Cleveland both face potential conference contenders on Wednesday, while Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers kick off their campaign on Thursday in the US capital.
NBA Week 1 multi tips
- Celtics to win – $2.36
- Warriors to win – $1.20
- Heat to win – $1.73
- Trail Blazers to win – $1.78
Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers
Wednesday, October 18 – 11:10am AEDT – Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland
Celtics – $2.36
Cavaliers – $1.62
Boston hold the third line of outright betting for good reason. While Isaiah Thomas is a big loss, the acquisition of Kyrie Irving and some promising draftees could see the Celtics better the 53-29 record that put them top of the Eastern Conference last term. LeBron and the Cavs should go deep again, and they are rightly pegged as favourites on their home court, but Boston are every chance to strike an early blow here.
Houston Rockets at Golden State Warriors
Wednesday, October 18 – 1:40pm AEDT – Oracle Arena, Oakland
Rockets – $4.75
Warriors – $1.20
Although Houston finished third in the Western Conference last season, there was a hefty gap between them (55-27) and second-placed San Antonio (61-21). Star guard James Harden is among the fancies for NBA MVP award, but does he have enough support to win big games like these? The bookies have GSW slated as shoo-ins for the title, and it is hard to argue against that when you see Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson on the same roster.
Miami Heat at Orlando Magic
Thursday, October 19 – 10am AEDT – American Airlines Arena, Miami
Heat – $1.73
Magic – $2.17
The Heat were stiff to miss playoffs last season, losing out to Chicago due to an inferior head-to-head record. Their second pre-season since Dwayne Wade’s departure threw up mixed results, including a narrow loss to Orlando at the Amway Center. The Magic shouldn’t scare any team this season when it really counts, however, and Miami should have enough in the locker to kick off the campaign with a strong win.
Portland Trail Blazers at Phoenix Suns
Thursday, October 19 – 1pm AEDT – Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix
Trail Blazers – $1.78
Suns – $2.07
Portland stride into the campaign proper in high spirits after finishing their preseason with four consecutive wins. The last of those was a confident 133-104 result in Phoenix, which made up for a two-point loss in the reverse fixture at the start of October. As the Suns will be clinging to the bottom few rungs of the Eastern Conference ladder again this year, these are the opportunities the Trail Blazers must take if they wish to climb the playoff rankings.
