A-League Round 2 betting odds and multi tips

A-League soccer betting

There is plenty of room for improvement in the second week of the 2019/20 A-League season.

While Sydney FC and Adelaide United kicked things off with a five-goal thriller, the disappointing 0-0 draw in the Melbourne Derby dominated the headlines.

Western United celebrated their A-League debut with a win in Wellington and the Brisbane Roar rallied late to snatch a point in Perth, but football fans are hoping for better fare across the board this weekend.

Let’s take a look at the latest A-League odds, value bets and multi picks on offer at Sportsbet.com.au – Australia’s most popular online bookmaker.

Melbourne Victory vs Western Sydney Wanderers

7:30pm AEDT Friday, October 18 at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne

Victory fans were less than impressed with last weekend’s goalless draw, but the boys in blue have another chance to light up Marvel Stadium on Friday night. They are paying $1.91 to beat a Wanderers side that saw off a gutsy display from Central Coast in Round 1. WSW are at long odds of $4 to salute in Melbourne, while the draw is pegged at $3.75.

Western United vs Perth Glory

5pm AEDT Saturday, October 19 at GMHBA Stadium, Geelong

While the A-League’s newest team copped a very ordinary fixture for their inaugural match, they could not have asked for a better outcome. Besart Berisha struck the maiden winner for United, who are $3 outsiders for their first-ever home game. The Glory are $2.40 favourites despite conceding a late equaliser at home last Sunday. The draw looks tempting at $3.40.

Central Coast Mariners vs Newcastle Jets

7:30pm AEDT Saturday, October 19 at Central Coast Stadium, Gosford

The Mariners gave a good account of themselves at Bankwest Stadium and were a little unlucky not to walk away with a point. That display will give them hope for Saturday’s derby date with Newcastle, who had a bye in the opening round. The Jets are well liked at $2.10, with CCM paying $3.40 at home and the draw giving up $3.60.

Melbourne City vs Adelaide United

4pm AEDT Sunday, October 20 at AAMI Park, Melbourne

Although Erick Mombaerts’ tenure at AAMI Park got off to cagey start, City are well backed at $2.20 to win their first home game of the season. Adelaide United had a good crack against Sydney but went down 3-2 courtesy of a late strike from Ryan McGowan. The Reds are offering $3.50 to win on the road, with the draw slightly shorter at $3.40.

Sydney FC vs Wellington Phoenix

6pm AEDT Sunday, October 20 at Leichhardt Oval, Sydney

Adelaide gave them a big scare, but the reigning premiers kicked off their title defence with a win in South Australia. The Phoenix, meanwhile, had the dubious honour of giving Western United their first A-League victory. Sydney are the shortest favourites of the round at $1.45, with Wellington way out at $7.50 and the draw paying juicy odds of $4.50.

A-League Round 2 Multi of the Week

Sportsbet multi odds = $6.57

The early rounds of the A-League are about as predictable as the Melbourne weather, so let’s keep it simple. The Victory have won their last five against the Wanderers, so they are a good shout to extend that streak at home. Clashes between the Mariners and the Jets rarely stay under three goals, while Sydney should lead from the front in their first home game of the season.
