Winter Olympics Day 7 betting tips & best odds – 10/2/2022
China is favored to win gold in the Freestyle Skiing Mixed Aerials Team event on Thursday and is also a favorite in its first Women’s Curling round-robin matchup against Denmark. We’ll take a look at those two events as well as the Men’s Snowboarding Cross in our best bets for Day 7 of the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Women’s Curling: China (-140) vs Denmark (+100)
Curling fans looking to watch the best game out of the first matches of the women’s round robin in curling should check out Great Britain vs. Switzerland as that match pits two of the title favorites against each other. The problem with that matchup for bettors is that it’s too tough to predict; the two teams involved went 1-1 against each other in European Championship matches last year and it’s hard to find much of an edge either way.
This matchup between China and Denmark actually features the two longest shots to win gold in 2022, with China going off at +6600 and Denmark at +10000 with BetOnline. The last time China and Denmark met in the 2021 World Women’s Curling Championship in Calgary, Denmark rolled to a 14-5 win. Despite that blowout victory, we’ll side with the home nation in this one; Han Yu led China to a gold medal in the 2019 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships, and this is will likely be the host nation’s only game as a favorite in this event. Look for them to rise to the challenge and earn the win.

Snowboarding: Men’s Snowboard Cross
Olympics bettors usually can’t go wrong rolling with athletes that are in top form heading into the games, and Martin Norl definitely fits the bill. The German snowboarder is the favorite to win the Men’s Snowboard Cross at +350 over other contenders including Austria’s Allesandro Haemmerle (+425) and Jakob Dusek (+550), France’s Merlin Surget (+650) and Canada’s Eliot Grondin (+700). Norl ranks no.1 in the world in snowboard cross this season and has three World Cup wins in 2022.
Instead of getting greedy with a bet to win gold, we’ll take the safer play on Norl finishing in the top three in this event. Anything can happen in winter sports, as we’ve seen during a week of highs and lows for favorites thus far in the 2022 Winter Olympics, but Norl looks to be a safe bet to be in the mix for a medal in the snowboard cross.

Freestyle Skiing: Mixed Aerials Team
The mixed team aerials make their Olympic debut this year in Beijing, and the timing is perfect for the host nation given how well the Chinese team of Xu Mengtao, Sun Jiaxu and Qi Guangpu has been performing. China earned a second straight World Cup victory in mixed team aerials in December with a 338.3 score that earned gold over the United States’ 315.66 and the Ukraine’s 303.07.
China is the clear favorite to win gold at -115. Russia is the biggest competition at +300, and the United States (+800) and Switzerland (+900) will also be in contention for a spot on the podium. There’s some value on a very talented Russia team at these odds, but China’s recent form and home country advantage should propel the team to victory.
