Tips, specials and Crownbet multi offer for NRL Round 5
EVEN at this early stage, several teams in the NRL have their seasons hanging by a thread.
The Warriors, the Raiders, the Bulldogs and the Titans have just one win to their names after the opening month of football.
The Warriors and the Titans meet on Sunday in a match that could potentially rule out other side in the post-season stakes.
It looms as the most important round of footy so far this season.
All odds for the five week of the NRL Season were provided by Crownbet.com.au, which is looking after NRL multi punters this week:
Selections for the Round 5 NRL multi:
Sydney Roosters to beat Manly Sea Eagles ($1.38)
North Queensland Cowboys to defeat South Sydney Rabbitohs ($1.32)
Canberra Raiders to beat Parramatta Eels ($1.40)
New Zealand Warriors to win against the Gold Coast Titans ($1.50)
Combined multi value: +282 @ Crownbet.com.au
Sydney Roosters vs. Manly Sea Eagles
Friday, March 31 from 6 pm AEDST Allianz Stadium, Sydney
Two of the strongest winners of week four meet on Friday night as the Roosters and the Sea Eagles clash at Allianz Stadium.
The Tricolours smashed the Rabbitohs by 14 points last Thursday night in one of the more dominant displays of the weekend.
The Sea Eagles put together an equally as brilliant display. Manly kept Canterbury scoreless whilst piling on 36 points of their own.
It looms as the match of the round, but we are favouring the Roosters here. They have class across the board and should prove too strong for Manly.
Sydney Roosters to win – $1.38
North Queensland Cowboys vs. South Sydney Rabbitohs
Friday, March 31 from 8.05 pm AEDST, 1300SMILES Stadium, Townsville
The top-four Cowboys host the under-siege Rabbitohs in Townsville in a match that could get extremely ugly for the visitors.
The Rabbits got absolutely hammered by the Roosters last week. The Bunnies were never in the contest and only managed to score six points whilst conceding 20.
The Cowboys forced their way back into the top-four after overcoming a plucky Titans team by six points despite missing several key players.
On paper this one looks like it could be a bloodbath. We are backing North Queensland to keep our multi moving into the third leg.
North Queensland Cowboys to win – $1.32
Canberra Raiders vs. Parramatta Eels
Sunday, April 1 from 5.30 pm AEST, GIO Stadium, Canberra
The Raiders are in dire need of a win after registering just two points from the opening month of league, and they will get the perfect opportunity to do so as the host the struggling Parramatta Eels.
The Eels were poor last week against the Cronulla Sharks. The reigning premiers bullied last year’s strugglers by 14 points in a match Parra were never truly in.
The Raiders suffered a bitter one point loss to the Broncos last week. After winning just one game from a difficult opening month, the Green Machine are starting to hit an easy run of fixtures.
We are backing Canberra to get their season on track on Saturday.
Canberra Raiders to win – $1.40
New Zealand Warriors vs. Gold Coast Titans
Sunday, April 2 from 2 pm AEDST, Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland, New Zealand
The last match of our mutli pits the 1-3 duo the Warriors and the Titans in a contest that could rule the loser out of September action, even at this early stage.
The Warriors have named superstar Kieran Foran to play this week, which would be his first game in the New Zealand black. The former Eel was a late withdrawal from last week’s loss to the Dragons.
The Titans had their hearts broken last week after being on the receiving end of a single figure loss to fellow Queenslanders the Cowboys. They need to win and win well if they are to remain in the finals hunt.
We are backing the Warriors here. If Foran does suit up he will prove the decisive factor for his new side.
New Zealand Warriors to win – $1.50
