Wednesday’s KFC Big Bash League double header continues in Perth with the Scorchers hosting the Sydney Thunder at the incredible Optus Stadium. These two sides have not met since BBL 11. With drastic changes made to each squad, how will this match pan out?

This top of the table clash could go either way with the Perth Scorchers looking to build on their four match winning streak with the hope of going two wins above the Thunder. Meanwhile, a win for the Thunder will see them join the Scorchers atop the BBL ladder, which few could have predicted when they were bowled out for 15.

The Thunder’s redemption from their embarrassing effort against the Strikers, but it is hard to see them beating the Scorchers at Optus Stadium. The home side’s versatility with bat and ball in hand is what has put them at the top of the BBL ladder. They are safe favourites to win this match paying $1.65.

Be it the first innings or the second, Tye’s skillset will be on display again and should see him take 3+ wickets in the match paying $4.50 with the top betting sites.

KEY MATCH UP: JHYE RICHARDSON v ALEX HALES

The battle at the top of the order between Richardson and Hales will be the highlight of the night. Richardson will use his pace as he always does in Perth to extract extra bounce from the wicket while in search of wickets. Hales has the height and wingspan to negate that extra pace and bounce, but when opening the batting, there will always be a ball with your name on it.
