The Saturday Slingshot presented by Bettingsite.com.au is here and it brings you the best bets for horse racing in Australia on Saturday, November 4, 2023 to help you launch into a winning weekend on the punt.

All odds are provided by leading online bookmakers recommended by Bettingsite.com.au

Flemington Race 5: #1 Zardozi @ +160

Our best of the day comes up in the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes (2000m) when Zardozi looks to build on her dominant win in the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m). The three-year-old filly put 1.5 lengths on her rivals that day and looked every bit a VRC Oaks (2500m) chance when only getting warm through the line over 1600m. The extra 400m on Saturday looks perfect and as long as James McDonald can find a spot midfield with cover from barrier 10, Zardozi should prove too powerful for her rivals over 2000m.

Rosehill Race 4: #2 Shohei @ +130

Shohei is one of the better bets on the Rosehill program as she gets set to return from a 217-day spell. She challenged some quality opposition towards the end of her four-year-old campaign, just being nosed out in the Bendigo Gold Bracelet on April 1. The daughter of Mikki Isle seems to be travelling beautifully for the Hawkes team, with two outstanding barrier trials heading into race-day. Jay Ford gets the appointment for Saturday, and if Shohei runs up to her work at home, it should be easy work for the experienced hoop.

Eagle Farm Race 8: #8 Ekaterina @ +105

Ekaterina was underwhelming first-up; however, she returned to form with a close win over 1200m at this track on October 14, keeping her unbeaten second-up record intact. After settling midfield from barrier one, this daughter of Russian Revolution had to wait for a gap to appear at the top of the straight, and when it did, she exploded with a blistering turn of foot. The extra 200m on Saturday will suit, and if she savages the line like she did last start, Ekaterina should be notching her eighth career win.

Morphettville Race 2: #2 Deepfloat Diva @ +120

Deepfloat Diva has two wins from two starts to begin his career. The three-year-old gelding wore down Wiggum at the Morphettville 1100m on October 21, and on his return to the track and trip, he looks to be too good once again. He draws perfectly in barrier one, from where Jake Toeroek can stalk the speed throughout. The son of Deep Field needs a touch of luck in the home straight, but if Deepfloat Diva is anywhere near his best, he can put this race away in a couple of strides.

Ascot Race 2: #6 Malkar Pindari @ +105

Malkar Pindari had strung two wins together before her runner-up finish behind Laquetta’s Gift at this track on October 21. The Simon Miller-trained galloper settled towards the back of the field and let down with a blistering turn of foot but couldn’t grab the leader before the winning post. On Saturday, this daughter of Gingerbread Man has drawn barrier three and has a 1.5kg weight swing on Laquetta’s Gift, so we expect her to settle closer to the speed. If Chris Parnham can have this girl within three lengths of the leaders at the top of the home straight, she will be very hard to hold out.
