THERE are big fixtures aplenty in week two of the NRL 2017, but none bigger than Friday night’s derby date at Suncorp Stadium.

The bookies cannot split the Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys, both whom enjoyed wins first up.

While the two rival teams are dead square at -111.11 each in the head-to-head betting, the Broncos have a slight edge in most other markets.

They finished strong against the reigning premiers at Shark Park last week, with Jordan Kahu and Anthony Milford impressing, and home ground advantage has to count for something in a match-up like this.

The Cowboys had a tougher time against Canberra Raiders, winning with a golden point in extra time when Gavin Cooper pounced on a field-goal attempt that struck the crossbar.
