Regan Bayliss gets Catchy ride in Danehill
Craig Williams will miss the ride on Catchy in the Danehill Stakes because of another commitment.
Blue Diamond Stakes winner Catchy will have a new rider when she runs in the Danehill Stakes at Flemington.
Regan Bayliss takes over from Craig Williams for the first time in the filly’s six-start career which has netted four wins.
Williams, who rode the filly when she ran second first-up to Crown Witness in the Quezette Stakes at Caulfield on August 19, made a commitment to Jukebox in Saturday’s Group Two 1200m-race.
The Lindsay Park stable changed race plans with Catchy after Williams had been booked for Jukebox who he partnered to win the Vain Stakes last month.
“We switched races and Craig already had taken the ride on Jukebox, so Regan will ride her on Saturday,” senior Lindsay Park trainer David Hayes said.
“She’s pretty good and will be pretty hard to beat.
“I know which one I’d be riding.”
Bayliss partnered Catchy in a barrier trial at Cranbourne last month when she finished third behind stablemates Formality and Tulip.
