Punters loading up on Martin in Norm Smith Medal betting
THE latest AFL Grand Final markets at Sportsbet.com.au suggest Dustin Martin is on course to complete an unprecedented double.
Fresh off clinching the Brownlow Medal with a record vote tally, the Richmond superstar has firmed into $4.75 to take out the Norm Smith Medal this Saturday.
Martin is holding 20 per cent of the market and has drawn three times as much money as his nearest rival, Adelaide’s Matt Crouch ($8).
If he salutes, Dusty will become the first player in VFL/AFL history to win the Brownlow and the Norm Smith in the same year.
“Punters are hoping that the AFL stars align for the Grand Final and Martin makes history,” said Sportsbet’s Christian Jantzen.
“But we all know one thing for sure – Dusty will be celebrating hard Saturday night no matter what.”
Martin is also well liked in the AFL Grand Final first goalscorer market.
He and Jack Riewoldt share the third line of betting at $10 odds, behind the twin Crow threats of Eddie Betts ($8.50) and Taylor Walker ($9.50).
