Punters back Scary Spice to add X-Factor to betting accounts

SHE is being dubbed the ‘underdog’ by X-Factor producers and Sportsbet.com.au has the same opinion of Mel B’s chances of being the winning judge, placing her at bottom of the market at $6.

The former Spice Girl joins the judging panel alongside favourite Adam Lambert ($2.50), Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian ($3) and Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea ($4), but she has a long way to go to make up ground given she takes control of the contestants the other judges said no to.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, the singer who was born as Melanie Brown said she is expecting her chargers to rise to the occasion.

“Doesn’t everybody always love an underdog, where you see someone get told no and then they all of a sudden rise above everything and show everybody what they are made of?” she said.

“To add that element, you are going to see a whole different kind of spirit on that show.”

Mel B brings a circus of attention wherever she goes, and Sportsbet has had a lot of fun putting together markets on the prodigal daughter’s return to Channel 7.

Punters can get a $5 return if they think that she will belt out a Spice Girls song at anytime throughout the series, $7 if they think she will give a shout out to her old weight loss sponsors Jenny Craig and $6 if they are convinced she will engage in a rap battle alongside Iggy Azalea at some point during this season.

The truly heartbroken Spice Girls fans that are clinging to the faint hope that the supergroup will get back together and record an album can get $11 if they believe Mel B will announce that news at any point throughout the series.

Sportsbet.com.au representative Christian Jantzen said the former Spice Girl has her work cut out for her heading into what could be the most interesting season of the X-Factor to date.

“Mel B is up against it by only having the rejects for want of a better word, but Adam Lambert’s under 22s category has historically been the strongest so we’ve made him the favourite.”
