Oh Five working towards Eagle Farm glory

Oh Five Glory will take on a strong field in the Listed Dalrello Stakes for 2yos at Eagle Farm.

A strong gallop on the Eagle Farm course proper indicates promising Brisbane filly Oh Five Glory is ready to again test the southern invaders.

The filly takes on a strong field of two-year-olds in Saturday’s Listed Dalrello Stakes (1000m) at Eagle Farm.

Oh Five Glory did the best of the Queensland-trained horses when she finished fifth behind Exhilarates in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January.

A $25,000 buy at the Magic Millions Sales, Oh Five Glory has been carefully managed by co-trainers Peter and Will Hulbert.

“She never seems to get any wraps but she has won $155,000 and provided we look after her she can win a lot more,” Peter Hulbert said.

“We have the BRC Sires and J J Atkins Stakes in mind for her but we are realistic. She is a QTIS eligible horse and if we don’t think she is up to the big races we will come back and chase QTIS money.

“But she did very well during a spell and while she hasn’t had a trial she thrashed a field in an 840 metre jump-out at Doomben.”

Hulbert said Oh Five Glory had worked on the course proper on Tuesday and handled the rain-affected track well.

“You can say that about a lot of horses and you don’t really know until you let their heads go in a race,” Hulbert said.

“But on that gallop and looking at her effort in the Magic Millions I reckon we will give them something to think about on Saturday.”

The big problem for the filly is her wide barrier but the Hulberts are hoping for likely early speed to allow her to get cover.
