NRL Round 20 betting update and premiership odds

NRL odds and betting

It is do-or-die for the mid-table teams as we approach the final furlong of the NRL home-and-away season.

While a few are making the right moves at the right time of the year, several are now in serious danger of losing touch with the top eight.

Let’s check in with Sportsbet.com.au and see how this week’s NRL odds are looking.

Wests Tigers vs North Queensland Cowboys

7:50pm AEST Thursday, August 1 – Leichhardt Oval

Wests reinvigorated their finals hopes with a two-point win over Newcastle last week, but North Queensland have a lot of work to do after losing a close one to Cronulla. The Tigers are pegged as $1.65 favourites at home, leaving the Cowboys with $2.25 odds. See our Tigers vs Cowboys preview here.

New Zealand Warriors vs Canberra Raiders

6pm AEST Friday, August 2 – Mt Smart Stadium

NZ sit a game outside the eight after last week’s loss to Parramatta, while Canberra took a big step towards a top-four finish with their win over Penrith. The Raiders are paying $1.77 to claim the points in Auckland, with the Warriors $2.05 outsiders on their own deck.

Brisbane Broncos vs Melbourne Storm

7:55pm AEST Friday, August 2 – Suncorp Stadium

Brisbane are back in the eight after a 34-12 mauling of Gold Coast, but the big question is whether Melbourne can bounce back from a rare home defeat to Manly. Early betting favours the Storm, who are slated at $1.54 to beat the $2.43 Broncos at Suncorp Stadium. See our Broncos vs Storm preview here.

Manly Sea Eagles vs Newcastle Knights

3pm AEST Saturday, August 3 – Lottoland

Manly are flying towards the finals after dealing Melbourne their first defeat since round eight. Newcastle are going the other way, having fallen out of the top half with their loss to Wests. That form is reflected in the odds, with the Sea Eagles at $1.50 and the Knights at $2.55.

Canterbury Bulldogs vs Penrith Panthers

5:30pm AEST Saturday, August 3 – Bankwest Stadium

Nobody was surprised to see Canterbury go down to the reigning premiers on Sunday, but few would have expected Penrith to give up 30 points at home after seven straight wins. Nevertheless, the Panthers are paying $1.41 to return to the winners’ circle this week, leaving the Dogs out at $2.85.

Cronulla Sharks vs South Sydney Rabbitohs

7:35pm AEST Saturday, August 3 – PointsBet Stadium

Cronulla kept their finals hopes afloat with a narrow win over North Queensland last time out, while Souths are back in business after three victories on the bounce. The Rabbitohs have the edge at $1.74, with the Sharks offering $2.08 at home. See our Sharks vs Rabbitohs preview here.

Sydney Roosters vs Gold Coast Titans

2pm AEST Sunday, August 4 – Sydney Cricket Ground

While Sydney are enjoying their first streak of consecutive wins in over two months, Gold Coast’s grip on the wooden spoon is tightening with each passing week. The Roosters are the best-backed team of the round at $1.13, giving the Titans massive odds of $6.05 for an upset.

St George Illawarra Dragons vs Parramatta Eels

4:05pm AEST Sunday, August 4 – Jubilee Stadium

St George Illawarra have lost four in a row and Parramatta have won four of their past five, yet NRL bookies have them locked together at $1.90 apiece for Sunday’s clash at Kogarah. Parra’s poor record on the road makes this one of the most interesting matchups of the round. See our Dragons vs Eels preview here.

2019 NRL Premiership betting update

Melbourne have drifted from $3.30 to $3.50 on the back of last week’s loss, while Sydney ($3.10) and Souths ($6) have not budged.
