Norm Smith Medal tips 2022
Here are our Norm Smith Medal tips for the AFL grand final between Geelong and Sydney, being played at the MCG on Saturday, September 24.
North Smith Medal winner prediction
While the Norm Smith Medal is exceptionally hard to predict the winner of, it has been won by some of the biggest names in the AFL over the years. Generally the Norm Smith Medal goes to a player on the winning team, although Nathan Buckley flipped the script in 2002 when the Magpies lost to Brisbane. This year we think the Cats are going to win the AFL grand final, and realistically, it’s hard to look past Dangerfield, who was magnificent in the preliminary final. He is paying a $6.50 to win the Medal and is our top prediction. If you think the Swans can win the match, it’s hard to look past Luke Parker, who is the right mix of toughness and skill to feature prominently.
Norm Smith Medal best value bets
Jeremy Cameron is the Cats X-factor and is clearly their most dangerous forward, with his performance against the Magpies in the semi-final a big reason the Cats are in a grand final. He is also offering some nice value at $11 to win the Norm Smith. Isaac Smith has also performed on the biggest of stages before in his time at Hawthorn and is paying a juicy $41, although he does have a habit of fading out of matches in the second-half.
There are several Swans that will poll well if they happen to win, with these including Lance Franklin ($26), although we won’t be betting on Buddy this time. Our best value bets for the Norm Smith wearing a Swans uniform, include Chad Warner at $18 and the eye-catching Isaac Heeney ($21).
Norm Smith Medal best roughie tip
While these Norm Smith Medal tips aren’t players that feature prominently in the betting markets, they are players that can play a blinding game or have eye-catching attributes. Our best roughies to win the 2022 Norm Smith Medal include Tom McCartin ($81), who is likely get the tough job on Cameron and if he succeeds in keeping him quiet it will go a long way to his team winning.
Geelong’s Tom Atkins is built for finals, he’s tough, uncompromising and has played a great finals series so far. He is also paying $41 to win the Norm Smith Medal and looks to be a live chance at great odds. The other Cat we really like, paying $34, is Tyson Stengle with the first-year recruit riding his resurgence all the way into the All Australian team and into a grand final, after beginning his career at the Crows.
