NFL Sunday betting tips & top odds – Week 10, 2021

NFL betting

The Detroit Lions will be looking for their first win of the 2021 NFL season when they visit the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday. We’ve got a pick in that matchup as well as selections in the Buffalo Bills vs New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs vs Las Vegas Raiders games in our NFL betting tips for Week 10.

Buffalo Bills (-12) at New York Jets (+12)

The Buffalo Bills (5-3-0) suffered one of the most stunning upset losses of the 2021 season last Sunday, losing as 14.5-point road favorites to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now the Bills are right back in the same position again this Sunday, playing on the road against one of the NFL’s worst teams in the New York Jets (2-6-0).

Buffalo has bounced back from each of its previous two losses this season with wins of 35-0 and 26-11 over the Miami Dolphins. The Jets are 2-6 both straight up and against the spread this season, and five of those six losses have come by 14 or more points. It’s safe to assume that Josh Allen and the Bills will be looking for a statement win after getting embarrassed last Sunday, and that doesn’t bode well for this lowly New York team. Roll with the Bills.

Detroit Lions (+8.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers (-8.5)

The Detroit Lions (0-8-0) are terrible. Dating back to last season, the Lions have lost 12 straight games. But for as bad as this squad is, they have covered the spread in half of those 12 games, and this looks like another spot that they might be able to.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3-0) are on a four-game winning streak, but those wins have come by an average of only 4.5 points. None of their five wins have come by more than eight points as this offense isn’t really designed to blow anyone out, averaging 20.1 points per game. To make matters worse for the Steelers, they just played on Monday Night Football and will have a short week of rest in this one while the Lions have had a bye week to rest and prepare. Pittsburgh likely wins outright, but Detroit should keep this one close enough to cover the spread.

Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5) at Las Vegas Raiders (+2.5)

The Kansas City Chiefs (5-4-0) have allowed only 12 points per game over their last two outings since giving up an average of 29 points over their first seven games. The defense deserves some credit for its recent play across these two wins, but it’s worth noting that these two matchups came against a bad New York Giants offense missing a handful of its best players due to injury and a Green Bay Packers team missing its starting quarterback in Aaron Rodgers.

The Las Vegas Raiders (5-3-0) should give this Kansas City defense a much more challenging test. Derek Carr is second in the NFL in passing yards per game this season, averaging 320.6 through the Raiders’ first eight games. If Las Vegas is able to force Kansas City into a shootout, the Chiefs’ turnover problems could crop back up and lead to an upset win for the Raiders at home.

Las Vegas Raiders +2.5
