Monster NRL same-game multi helps Sportsbet client clean up
THE Raiders may have been winless heading into round three of the NRL season, but most expected the men from Canberra to easily account for the Tigers.
Few would have predicted the manner in which they did it however, expect for one astute Sportsbet client who made a killing on their unique same-game multi deal.
The punter put just $20 on the $191, 11 leg multi on the Raiders and Tigers game, and took home a huge $3,820 payout.
The lucky man took a few obvious legs like the Raiders in the head-to-head market and the race to 10 points, but backing the Green Machine to score 30 or more points was a masterstroke given they were one of only two sides to do so in round three.
Taking Josh Papalii to score a try in the first half as well as Jack Wighton to score one in the second half injected some serious value into the multi, but it is fair to say the Jordan Rapana leg would have caused some consternation heading into the latter stages of the match.
Jordan Rapana had to score two tries in the match – a feat that seemed like a formality given he would end the game scoring eight in the last five games against the Wests – and after scoring the first for the Raiders in the opening 15, the superstar winger waited until the last minute of the game to cross the line a second time.

It is a pretty safe assumption the try would have been a very popular one at this punters house.
Sportsbet.com.au representative Christian Jantzen said it was the biggest payout the company has issued on a same-game multi.
“This is the greatest same-game multi we’ve ever seen! They were obviously pretty confident the Raiders would do a job on the Tigers,” Jantzen said.
