Lynn & Markram player tips – Australia vs. South Africa T20 betting
AFTER falling short in the three-game ODI series, Australia will look for some redemption in the shortest form of the game when it takes on South Africa in a one-off T20 fixture at Canberra on Saturday.
The short visit from the South Africans has done little to fill Australians with confidence ahead of a summer of cricket against India.
While Aaron Finch’s men did manage to snatch a victory and break an eight-game drought in the ODI format, they were largely disappointing throughout the series.
So, can the Aussies, once again led by Aaron Finch, get a win here?
Let’s take a look at the squad before we head to the most interesting betting markets:
Australian and South African squads
Australia: Aaron Finch (c), Ashton Agar, Jason Behrendorff, Alex Carey, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Chris Lynn, Ben McDermott, Glenn Maxwell, Darcy Short, Ben Stanlake, Marcus Stoinis, Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa.
South Africa: Faf du Plessis (c), Farhaan Behardien, Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Imran Tahir, Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Chris Morris, Lungi Ngidi, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dwaine Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, Dale Steyn.
Chris Lynn batting odds & tips
Top Australian run-scorer: $4.33
Australian win/Lynn top scores: $7
Man of the match: $9
Over 23.5 runs: $1.83
After indifferent returns in the ODI series, Lynn will welcome a return to the format in which he has made his name and provides some real value in selected run-scoring markets here.
Lynn will get every opportunity to put runs on the board and will either open the innings or bat at first drop — it’s the kind of opportunity you need when wagering on T20 markets, given the quick nature of the games.
Lynn is due for a big return, has form at Canberra and of particular interest to us is the $7 combo on a Lynn top-score into Australia victory, given that if Lynn does top score, he will greatly increase Australia’s chances of saluting.
Aiden Markram batting odds & tips
Top South African run-scorer: $4.50
South Africa win/Markram top scores: $9
Man of the match: $17
To score a 50: $4.50
After steady returns in the ODI series and a strong recent record of making contributions at the top of the South African batting order, Markram is a great option in these betting markets.
Markram is coming off an explosive 45 in the recent T20 warm-up match and should bat at either number three or four, meaning he’ll get more than enough deliveries to top these markets.
For the life of us, we can’t work out why Markram is $17 for the man of the match, given it is likely if he top-scores he can win the award.
