Jake Weatherald half century odds & analysis – BBL Adelaide vs. Perth

The squeeze for spots in the BBL finals has removed the Strikers and Scorchers from contention.

Sitting in the bottom two positions on the ladder, two of the early favourites to take out the competition have failed to perform on the big stage.

The Perth Scorchers have a proud history of dominating this league, but have underachieved and now must try and avoid its first wooden spoon.

With Australian batsman, Travis Head, on international duties for a majority of the competition, the Strikers were without their former captain, which proved costly as the Strikers only won five matches for the season.

With nothing to lose and plenty to prove, the two sides will both put their worries behind them and look to regain some dignity in this battle for respect.

As one of the most exciting players in the competition, Jake Weatherald always opens the batting for the Strikers.

Weatherald is a player that has been inconsistent this season, but when he is at his best, the Strikers are tough to beat.

Last week Weatherald only made one run, which was 81-runs less than his previous outing.

With this in mind, Jake is in for a good innings, one that will be filled with boundaries and quality shot selection.

If the young Striker can push through the power-play, he normally stays in for at least 40 balls, more than enough for Jake to post a hefty total.

The Scorchers don’t have a quality spinner to worry Weatherald and we think he’ll take the Perth quick bowlers square of the wicket on the short Adelaide Oval boundaries.

Strikers vs. Scorchers betting predictions

With the inclusion of Travis Head back into the Strikers’ line-up, their confidence and overall balance will give them the edge over the Scorchers.

Lead by Rashid Khan, Ben Laughlin and Peter Siddle, the Strikers have the option to control runs or take wickets, which really gives them the advantage over the last-placed Scorchers.

If either Alex Carey or Jake Weatherald can post a large total, the Scorchers will have very little chance of winning the match.
