Australian Open Day 2 Betting preview, odds and tips

Thanks to Australia’s tight hotel quarantine precautions, the Australian Open has successfully gotten underway in Melbourne, where the best players in the world are on display.

Day one’s action saw a few upsets but included the usual abundance of blowouts, as the top-ranked players quickly send home their round one opponent in straight sets.

Round one continues this Tuesday in the Australian Open’s second day of action, where some of the most highly anticipated players will take to the court.

Australian Open Day 2 Men’s betting tips

Alexei Popyrin has his hands full right from the beginning of his Aus Open campaign, as the young Australian will need to get through Belgium’s Goffin. Goffin advanced to the Wimbledon Quarter Finals in 2019 and has not been eliminated in the Australian Open’s first round since 2013. Unfortunately for Popyrin, we see the David Goffin winning this match up.

If you weren’t already aware, Rafael Nadal is competing this year, and that usually spells a finish in the finals for the Spaniard. Hailing from Serbia and ranking at #56, Djere is a very talented tennis player, but he drew the short still having to face Nadal in the first round. Lock in Nadal to advance well-beyond the first round.

Possibly the most anticipated match of the day will be Australian up-and-comer De Minaur against America’s cult figure in Sandgren. Tennys was born to play the sport and has found the most success playing on Aussie soil, making his only two Quarter Finals at the Aus Open. Despite Tennys’ great form, we still believe this is Alex’s match to win. We believe De Minaur is set for a huge tournament if he can get the early win here.

Australian Open Day 2 Women’s betting tips

Born originally in Russia, Kenin quickly moved to America and found her love for tennis. She won the Australian Open last year at the age of 21, making her the youngest American to win a Grand Slam since Serena Williams in 2002. Maddison Inglis still hasn’t won a professional tennis match, and we don’t think this will be her first, leaving Sofia Kenin as the winner in this matchup.

Another talented young American player is Coco Gauff, a crowd favourite and a child-prodigy. Only 16-years-of-age and competing with the best of them, Gauff advanced to the Australian Open’s fourth round last year and made the Quarter Finals in the doubles. Teichmann has not made it past the first round of the singles since 2018 and will struggle to match the young superstar on Day two, leaving Coco Gauff as the victor in this head to head.

You cannot go past the world number one in the Australian Open, as Ash Barty should look to take out the entire tournament this season. Barty made the decision to sit out most Grand Slams in 2020 due to COVID-19, but she’s still in her prime and should easily defeat her round-one opponent. Barty will have Rod Laver Arena’s patrons on the edge of their seat as she looks to secure her first win.
