Match two of the 2022 Rugby League World Cup sees the new-look Australian Kangaroos kick off their campaign against the Fiji Bati in Leeds on Sunday morning (5:30am AEDT).

Australia have named seven international debutants including two in the extended squad, with all nine players having featured in the 2022 State of Origin series. The Kangaroos are red-hot favorites to take the 2022 World Cup back down under, while the Fiji Bati are massive underdogs.

The Kangaroos have named a star-studded lineup including Queensland halves Cameron Munster and Daly Cherry-Evans, Rabbitohs superstar Latrell Mitchell and Manly workhorse Jake Trbojevic.

The Fiji Bati are expected to name a similar line up to the one that took on England, but will surely look to include Viliame Kikau and Maika Sivo in their starting side.

The Kangaroos couldn’t be hotter favorites to take down the Fiji Bati, which doesn’t come as a surprise given the differences in overall quality between the two sides. The last time the Kangaroos took on the Bati they won by an enormous margin, and this clash looks to be a similar affair. Look for Australia to replicate a similar performance and win by a large margin of 41-50 points at $4 with BetOnline.

In their last clash when Australia scored 10 tries to win by a large margin, Valentine Holmes was the main beneficiary on the left wing scoring a whopping six tries. Josh Addo-Carr will be the man on the left wing for the Kangaroos and has shown during the 2022 NRL season he is more than capable of scoring hat-tricks and should be capable of doing the same thing for Australia.

Another man for the Kangaroos who will be looking to dominate on the left edge will be Rabbitohs superstar Latrell Mitchell. He will be returning to his favored left center position where he has played at the Roosters and Rabbitohs, and even more recently in the Koori Knockout Cup, where he showed, he can still score tries. Mitchell will be looking for a dominant performance and will surely go on to score two or more tries.

The Fiji Bati has a host of try scoring talent in their side with Maika Sivo, Mikaele Ravalawa and Kikau in their side. They have the talent to score a try or two and should the Kangaroos pile on the points during the match, this clash should be a high scoring affair. The total match points for this match should also fall between the 41-50 point band at $3.80.

Key matchup: Tui Kamikamica v Tino Fa’asuamaleaui

The battle between these two enormous front row forwards will be an incredible clash. Both players are tall, strong, explosive and can get through an enormous amount of work. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui will certainly be looking to make the front row position his own given the other forwards named in the Australian squad, and taking on Tui Kamikamica will be a huge way to stamp his authority. Kamikamica will need to respond in a big way to show his team the way in the middle of the field and build the platform to what would be an upset win for the Fiji Bati.
