2021 AFL Finals Week 3 betting preview & premiership odds

2021 AFL preliminary finals

Only four teams remain in the premiership race as we enter the penultimate week of the 2021 AFL Finals Series.

The Geelong Cats acquired an early lead over the GWS Giants last Friday night and never looked back, advancing to a blockbuster preliminary final against Melbourne.

The Western Bulldogs emerged from their thrilling encounter with the Brisbane Lions last weekend as one-point victors, setting up a date with the Power this Saturday at the Adelaide Oval.

The question is: which two teams will advance to the first-ever AFL Grand Final to be held in Western Australia?

Melbourne Demons vs Geelong Cats

Friday, September 10 @ 5:50pm AWST – Optus Stadium

The Melbourne Demons ($1.49) will be well-rested after winning their qualifying final against the Lions to skip ahead to week three of the post-season. The Cats ($2.65) suffered two injuries during their 35-point victory over the Giants, as Brandan Parfitt hurt his hamstring and Tom Hawkins suffered a corked leg. Hawkins will be fit to play this weekend, but Parfitt has been ruled out. After their incredible clash at Kardinia Park in round 23, this one is shaping up to be a belter.

Port Adelaide Power vs Western Bulldogs

Saturday, September 11 @ 7:10pm ACST – Adelaide Oval

Many pundits expected the Brisbane Lions would take on the Power ($1.47) this Saturday night, but the Bulldogs ($2.69) came out on top in the semis and will now make their way to the Adelaide Oval. Mitch Georgiades (hamstring) and Orazio Fantasia (knee) are racing the clock to prove their fitness for Port Adelaide, while young Bulldog Cody Weightman has been ruled out with concussion. Marcus Bontempelli came out of the win over Brisbane with a knee complaint, so the Doggies’ medical staff will be working overtime to get the skipper in good enough shape to take on the likes of Ollie Wines and Travis Boak.

2021 AFL Premiership odds – Finals Week 3

The Demons still sit atop the 2021 AFL Premiership betting market at $2.65, while the Power have moved in slightly from $3.60 to $3. The Cats ($5) and Bulldogs ($6) are the outsiders this weekend, so there is still some value to be had if you think one of those sides can take the long road all the way to the premiership.
