If you can only watch one footy match this weekend, make it this monumental clash between the Magpies and Tigers at the MCG on Friday night.

This game will be a true battle for a top-four position, as Collingwood and Richmond are placed fourth and fifth on the ladder respectively with 11 wins each after 18 rounds.

Recent history between these two has been unmissable, with the Pies stunning the Tigers in last year’s preliminary finals and following up with a big win in round two this season.

The last three clashes have been Richmond home matches, albeit at the MCG where both sides play their home games, but black and white will have a majority in the crowd this week with Collingwood hosting.

GWS smashed the Magpies with their tall forwards last week, but whether Jack Riewoldt and Tom Lynch can do the same is another story.

Richmond may be able to bring back Toby Nankervis for this clash depending on his fitness, which would even up the ruck contest.

With the Pies all over the place and the Tigers in dangerous form, anything can happen.

Collingwood vs Richmond Round 19 player disposals betting

Brodie Grundy to get 25 disposals @ $2.50 with Sportsbet
With Nankervis in doubt to play, Grundy will either dominate the younger Ivan Soldo or run Nank off his legs upon return. Grundy is the fittest ruckman in the AFL and loves to play a wingman-like role, linking up with the defence and getting plenty of touches around the ground.

– Latest Collingwood Magpies odds

Kane Lambert to get 25 disposals @ $2.10
Of all the midfielders in the AFL, few players work as diligently and as hard as Lambert. What makes the 27-year-old Tiger great at accumulating the footy is his gut running. When Lambert plays on the wing, he is always able to work back into defence to pick up extra disposals.

Collingwood vs Richmond Round 19 goalscorer odds

Jordan De Goey to kick three goals – Best odds at Ladbrokes
When the Pies beat the Tigers earlier this season, De Goey finished the night with five goals. Normally Alex Rance would play on Collingwood’s top forward, but he is still out of action with an ACL injury. Whoever takes JDG is in for a tough night at the office.

Shai Bolton to kick two goals
Bolton was awarded the AFL Rising Star nomination a few weeks ago when he had 29 disposals against the Giants, but even more impressive was his four-goal haul against Fremantle in round eight. He is a clever small forward with plenty of pace, which could pose a problem for the Pies with James Aish missing.

Collingwood vs Richmond Round 19 total points betting

Over 160.5 @ $2 with Sportsbet
The wet weather would normally kill any chance of a high-scoring game, but both sides seem well built to cope with a bit of rain. The Tigers have some classy rovers with clean hands in all conditions, while the Pies have tough midfielders that love the wet.

Collingwood vs Richmond Round 18 match predictions

Match result: Richmond Tigers to win @ $1.54 with Sportsbet
Line betting: Collingwood Magpies +9.5 @ $1.90

All signs point to a Friday night to remember, but the Tigers have all the form and should win it.
