Rosa’s Charm (inside) finishes strongly to beat stablemate Miracles Aplenty at Doomben.

Trainer John Zielke’s system of educating his early-season two-year-olds shows no sign of getting old.

Rosa’s Charm ($21) charged home along the fence to beat her Zielke-trained stablemate Miracles Aplenty ($6.50) by a long head with three-quarters of a length to Aetherius ($13) third in a two-year-old fillies race at Doomben.

It was Zielke’s fifth two-year-old win in the first month of the juvenile season.

“The thing is to keep your horses sound and especially the young horses,” Zielke said.

“We give them six or seven short preparations from the time we get them as yearlings,” Zielke said.

“They come in for two to three weeks and then go out again. We rarely have a juvenile that goes shin sore.”

Rosa’s Charm was having her second start after finishing ninth at the Gold Coast three weeks ago.

“She had no luck in that race and I knew from her trials she could gallop.”

Rosa’s Charm is a Magic Millions 2YO Classic horse and will now head towards the $2 million race in January.

“She picked up a good bit of prize money today so we can now take our time about getting to the Millions.” Zielke said.
