Winning Ways claims the G1 Queensland Oaks
Winning Ways has scored an emotional victory in the Queensland Oaks, a week after the death of her owner Paul Makin.
Makin was an influential owner and breeder who raced global Group One performer Starcraft in Australia out of the stable of Winning Ways’ trainer Garry Newham.
Set alight at the 500m, Winning Ways held on to beat Dawson Diva with Lady Cuvee taking the minor placing in the 2200m Group One race at Doomben.
