West Coast vs Adelaide AFL betting preview
The West Coast Eagles are back in full flight and will want to punish the winless Adelaide Crows at the Gabba this Saturday.
Even with a midfield that consists of Brad and Matt Crouch, Rory Sloane and emerging ruckman Reilly O’Brien, the Crows are losing every game without looking competitive.
Scoring has been the biggest issue for Matthew Nicks’ men, as they have only kicked 31 goals this season – the lowest total of all teams that have played five games.

The Eagles trialled a new system last week, employing the marking capabilities of four tall forwards to great effect in a much-needed win over the Sydney Swans.
If 2018 premiers utilise their height against the Crows, they could be in for a big day against an Adelaide back line that can be exposed when Daniel Talia and Tom Doedee are left with too much to do.
Both teams have been hubbing on the Gold Coast since the restart, so there can be no excuses in either camp as they head up the road to Brisbane this week.
West Coast vs Adelaide disposal tips
Andrew Gaff 30+ disposals
Besides the obvious issues in the forward half, the Crows also have a problem on the wing. Rory Atkins is out with a shoulder issue, meaning Andrew Gaff could have an absolute field day. The clever midfielder ranks second only to Lachie Neale for total disposals this year and should find plenty of space on the broad expanses of the Gabba.
Matt Crouch 25+ disposals
After being dropped and brought back into the squad, Matt Crouch is starting to get aggressive in the middle. He had 27 disposals in last week’s loss to Fremantle and, on current form, is one of previous few players in the Adelaide squad that can beat the likes of Elliot Yeo and Tim Kelly to the footy on a regular basis.
West Coast vs Adelaide goalscorer betting
Oscar Allen 2+ goals
Oscar Allen was the standout performer in a stacked West Coast forward line last week, kicking three goals and marking everything that went his way. You can bet the Crows defenders will put most of their time and energy into Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling, leaving Allen free to have a big impact again.
Ben Crocker anytime goalscorer
It is very hard to find a player on the Adelaide list that we can confidently tip to kick multiple goals, but we like these odds for Ben Crocker as an anytime goalscorer. The former Magpie has played every game since the resumption and looks to have settled into the forward six, kicking three goals as a roaming medium forward.
West Coast vs Adelaide match predictions
Over 129.5 total points
As we have highlighted multiple times, the Crows are very poor in the forward half and the Eagles have the ability to tear them apart. If the likes of Jack Darling and Josh Kennedy can get going, the domino effect will give Jake Waterman and Oscar Allen more space inside 50 to make an impact. Don’t be afraid to take the overs on a higher points line.
West Coast Eagles by 40+ points
There is no doubt that Luke Shuey is a big out for the Eagles, but the midfield will be fine without him. Elliot Yeo has run into some form, Tim Kelly is starting to get going and Nic Naitanui is in excellent touch. The Crows cannot kick a winning score this season and often look defeated from the outset, so you can put the house on West Coast to make it two on the bounce.
