Warriors vs Sea Eagles NRL betting preview

This game kicks off what might be one of the more depressing final Sunday afternoon doubleheaders of any NRL season in memory.

A game where neither team has anything to play for is always hard to predict. The New Zealand Warriors come in as the $2 outsiders, while Manly are $1.80 favourites.

Given the Warriors know they will be heading home the next day to see their families, it’s not hard to think they will leave everything on the field one last time in a season where they have become one of the great stories of 2020.

The Manly Sea Eagles, on the other hand, have been the disappointment of the year, missing the top eight comfortably when good judges thought they were a dark horse for the premiership.

Blame the injuries all you want, but their defence has been simply woeful for the last eight weeks.

The lowest total they’ve conceded is 20, which came against a wooden spoon contender in the Bulldogs.

The other seven scores of 42, 34, 30, 56, 26, 26 and 42 make for horrible reading and are an absolute anomaly for Des Hasler’s sterling reputation as a great defensive coach.

Take the over 46.5 because it’s the last round and you’re a coward if you don’t, and also look hard at the Warriors to win by 13 or more at the tasty price of $5.

Eliesa Katoa at $19 is a good roughie for the Warriors in the first tryscorer betting, but the $26 on offer for Chanel Harris-Tavita is staggering and just too good not to throw some money on.

Morgan Harper at $15 is a good get for the Sea Eagles, but there is one more market that might want to be looked at.

With Peta Hiku replacing Roger Tuivasa-Sheck at fullback, the $4 combination on him to score a try and the Warriors to win is well worth a go.
