The Toby Edmonds-trained Tyzone (right) is favourite for the Ramornie Handicap at Grafton.
Gold Coast trainer Toby Edmonds is favoured to claim Grafton’s famous sprint, the Ramornie Handicap, with stablemates Tyzone and Havasay leading the market.
Edmonds also has outsider Siegfried in Wednesday’s Listed Ramornie (1200m).
Tyzone, the TAB’s $3.50 favourite to be ridden by Glen Colless, will start from barrier seven with Havasay ($5) to come out of gate two with Matthew McGillivray aboard.
Tyzone was narrowly beaten in the Listed Eye Liner Stakes at Ipswich on June 16 while Havasay finished third in the Group Three W J Healy Stakes at Doomben a week later.
A field of 16 plus three emergencies was declared on Monday for the Ramornie with one defection soon after the draw, the Shane Edmonds-trained Mishani Sleuth who came up with the outside alley.
The Kris Lees-trained Zestful is at $5.50 to send his jockey Corey Brown off on a high as he begins a European holiday before riding in the Shergar Cup teams event at Ascot next month.
Robert Thompson will be trying to win his fifth Ramornie and Big Money his second.
Thompson and Big Money combined to win in 2014 with the jockey’s other wins coming on The Jackal in 2007 and 2008 and Youthful Jack in 2013.
The Rod Northam-trained Big Money is a $17 chance and has drawn barrier 17.
