Twitter reacts to more Queensland Origin domination
IT happened again.
The Queensland Maroons have done it again.
AGAIN.
In front of 50,000-plus screaming Queenslanders at Suncorp in the 2017 State of Origin decider, the reigning champs continued New South Wale’s pain with a 22-6 victory.
Again, it was the old firm of Cooper Cronk, Cameron Smith and Billy Slater that led the way.
Again, New South Wales crumbled when it mattered most.
Again, Queensland overcome the underdog tag to keep its incredible streak alive.
The Maroons have won 11 of the last 12 series – it’s only blemish in more than a decade coming in 2014.
The only thing more interesting than the battle on the field was the circus going on off it – we’ve taken a look at the best from the Twitterverse and let some of our favourite accounts tell the full story.
Look away now Blues fans – we wonder how many from NSW were able to watch the full 90 minutes?

These are the true champions of Queensland – the icons of a state and future hall of famers of the code.
In many ways, 2017 summed up their careers. Fighting injury, age and momentum, they were able to go back to the well one last time.
It’s the last time Cronk, Smith, Thurston and Slater all play together – and what a series they put together.

It didn’t take long for the pain to settle in for New South Wales fans.
It didn’t take long after the result for the beautiful burns to take effect.

You knew NSW was in trouble when even old Queensland hero Alfie Langer started getting his hands on the pill.

It became quite clear in the opening 25 minutes that the Blues’ defence had holes.

And a case of the fumbles only made things worse.
That sums up the half from NSW… #origin pic.twitter.com/a5JjphaAOs

The man to cop the brunt of New South Wales frustration? The one and only Mitchell Pearce.
Where’s Mitchell? Last seen at Adelaide Oval in round 16… #Origin pic.twitter.com/9SuU5uI3jY

A bloke making his debut, who’s natural position is fullback, is already a better #Origin half than Mitchell Pearce.

Things didn’t get any better for Blues fans the day after the result:

The play of the night? Cooper Cronk’s bullet pass in the opening stages that set up Queensland’s second try.

Cronk’s brilliance even inspired some beautiful insults for AFL team Collingwood – frustrated Magpie fans will be furiously nodding their head at this one.
Cooper Cronk kicks a better drop punt than 3/4 of Collingwood’s list #Origin
