Online bookmaker Sportsbet.com.au has installed the Townsville Blackhawks as $6.00 favourites to win the QLD Cup.
Boasting the likes of former NRL players Kalifa Faifai Loa, Jake Marketo, Jaelen Feeney and Brenden Santi, Townsville heads the market ahead of Easts Tigers and Sunshine Coast Falcons at $7.00.
One-quarter of the money placed on the premiership market is on the Blackhawks, but there has been some support for Mackay ($34) and Central Queensland Capras ($26) at big odds.
“There’s a stack of NRL first grade experience in the Blackhawks squad so they’re definitely the team to beat this year. The $6.00 is probably value when you look at their side on paper,” said Sportsbet’s Christian Jantzen.
