Capital Connection has given trainer Tony Gollan his 1000th winner with his Ipswich victory.

Premier Brisbane trainer Tony Gollan has brought up a milestone and given himself a chance at another with a winning treble at Ipswich.

Gollan reached 1000 wins with Capital Connection ($1.30) and Prue’s Angel ($1.65) and Natch ($2.90) to his tally on Wednesday.

He now has 82 city-class winners for the season and now has a shot at his Queensland metropolitan record of 86-1/2 with five meetings remaining.

Gollan has been training for nearly two decades but has been dominant with 700 overall winners in the past eight seasons.

“I don’t keep those types of records but I am told that put me past me 1000 career wins which is good news,” Gollan said.

“I do know we are still in with a shot at the city record and we have had 122 winners overall so it has been a good season.”

Gollan is looking to take all three winners to the city on a Saturday.

Brad Stewart, who rode Capital Connection, Prue’s Angel and Natch, made it five wins in nine rides since resuming from a four-week suspension.

“Brad has been riding work and as long as he continues to do so we will support him,” Gollan said.

Trainer Matt Dunn also has a chance at a personal record after Without Revenge ($2) won a maiden on Wednesday.

It took Dunn to 95-1/2 overall wins for the season which gives him a chance at 100 for the season for the first time.

Dunn and his wife Keira, who owns Without Revenge, are on holidays but have high hopes for the gelding as a stayer.

Robert Heathcote also had a training double with Grey Nada($1.60 fav) and Joel ($5 fav) to give him 47 metropolitan winners and a chance to train 50 city winners for the 10th time in his career.
