Tigers & Swans close on Crows in AFL Premiership betting

AFL Market Movers

ADELAIDE remain the team to beat in 2017 AFL Premiership betting, but they have some capable company at the top end of the market.

The Crows eased through to the preliminary finals with a dominant victory over Greater Western Sydney last Thursday night.

That effort has seen the minor premiers firm into $2.90 for the flag at online bookmaker CrownBet.com.au.

Also one giant leap closer to the AFL Grand Final are Richmond, who ended their post-season drought in spectacular fashion on Friday.

Dustin Martin was one of many Tigers in fine form as they demolished Geelong in front of a packed house at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Now in prime position to play in the decider for the first time since 1982, Richmond have plunged to $3.65 in the outright betting.

A big tick for Damien Hardwick’s men is that they have landed on the softer side of the draw.

Crownbet $80 special

That means no chance of a prelim clash with the Sydney Swans, who played Essendon off the park on Saturday afternoon.

Even though they have to negotiate Geelong and Adelaide to get there, the Bloods are rated a $4.25 chance to win the whole thing.

The Giants ($6.50) are the only other team under double digits in the title betting.

They are expected to have few problems with West Coast, who outlasted Port Adelaide in extra time to reach the semis.

The Eagles are $26 outsiders for the flag, while the Cats have blown out to $17 odds.

Franklin & Kennedy top AFL Finals specials

Lance Franklin is CrownBet’s $1.80 favourite to finish as the top goalscorer of the AFL Finals Series.

Despite limping off early with a knock, the Sydney superstar booted four goals against the Bombers in an influential performance.

That the Swans are playing next weekend gives Franklin an advantage over rivals such as Adelaide’s Eddie Betts ($6) and Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt ($15), both of whom have the round off.

Another to benefit from that quirk is Sydney skipper Josh Kennedy – the $5 market leader for most disposals in the finals.

Giants gun Josh Kelly holds the second line at $6, ahead of Matt Crouch ($6.50), Callan Ward ($7.50) and Patrick Dangerfield ($8.50).

Brownlow favourite Dusty Martin is a $10 chance after his match-turning 28 disposals against Geelong.
