It all comes down to this on Wednesday night, as BBL 13 reaches its conclusion with a massive clash between the Sydney Sixers and the Brisbane Heat. After the regular season, this is sure to be a thrilling match between the top two sides. Here are our tips and previews for the match:

The two sides faced each other in ‘The Qualifier’ last Friday night, where the Sixers booked their spot in the final with a comprehensive 39-run win. Batting first, it was veteran pair Daniel Hughes (42) and Moises Henriques (59) who navigated difficult batting conditions for the Sixers to set the total of 152. In the second innings, the Sixers showed their quality, with Ben Dwarshius taking 5/21 as the Heat were bowled out for just 113.

The Sydney Sixers are now playing in their seventh BBL final as they look to add to their three titles. Expect limited changes to the line-up, as they back in the same side from Friday night.

After losing ‘The Qualifier’, the Heat made the most of their second chance on Monday night as they beat the Adelaide Strikers by 54 runs in ‘The Challenger’. It was the Josh Brown show for the Brisbane Heat, as the opener put up a massive 140 off just 57 deliveries to help set the target of 215 to win. With the dangerous Strikers top order looming dangerously, it was Heat fast bowler Spencer Johnson who ensured victory, taking out the top three to complete his figures of 3/20.

Looking to avenge their defeat in last season’s decider, the Heat face a tough challenge heading down to Sydney. Missing plenty of the stars that helped them reach the finals, the Heat may also be without batsman Matthew Renshaw, whose involvement in the test side may make him unavailable.

With both sides winning one match each in their encounters this season, both are capable of a win here as the consistent Sydney Sixers face the explosive Brisbane Heat. The most experienced side in the competition, plenty of the Sixers players have won multiple titles before. Whereas the Heat have no past winners in their side, with international selection forcing five of their first-choice batsmen out of the side. He has an excellent record against the Heat, and despite a down tournament by his standards, he should be a critical player in this final. As the Heat lost 4/5 at the end of their innings against the Strikers, don’t be surprised if they have another late collapse with Abbott bowling at the death. Recently rewarded with a place in the Australian ODI squad, Brisbane Heat fast bowler Xavier Bartlett will be keen to show the selectors what he can do on the big stage. Bartlett, the leading wicket-taker in the Big Bash with 18, has typically done his damage at the start of the innings. As a part of the excellent quartet of pace bowlers the Heat have at their disposal, it is hard to pick who will lead the side for wickets, but Bartlett is sure to have a major impact with 2+ wickets at +160 with top cricket bookmakers.
