Sportsbet sets market on Nick Kyrgios continuing circus act

Kyrgios capitulates
AFTER his second round capitulation at the Australian Open, Sportsbet.com.au has elected to open a number of markets on the ongoing exploits of Aussie tennis player Nick Kyrgios.

Sportsbet clients can invest on who they think will be the next coach of the 21-year-old. Australia’s Davis Cup captain Lleyton Hewitt is at the top of the market at $2.25.

One man who is in the market is John McEnroe, but given his triple figure price and the spats the pair have had in the past it is hard to imagine the ‘Super Brat’ will be the next coach of the world number 13.

Another in the market is former coach of Gael Monfils, Roger Rasheed.

Rasheed ($13 to be the next NK coach at Sportsbet.com.au) expressed an interest back in December to mentor the tennis prodigy.

“Nick is a great talent and I love working with great talent. There’s so much more development with Nick,” Rasheed told The Weekend Australian late last year.

“That character and energy I do like working with. The more they’ve got to throw at you on all levels, the more it engages me because of the type of coaching platform I have.”

Sportsbet representative Christian Jantzen believes Kyrgios needs to do his due diligence before selecting his next coach.

“Lleyton Hewitt would be the easy choice for Kyrgios given their friendship, but Nick has said he needs to step out of his comfort zone if he’s going to get to where he wants to in the sport,” Jantzen said.

The next few months of tennis will tell the world all they need to know about Kyrgios’ intentions going forward and how dedicated he truly is to breaking into the top-10.

The petulant Kyrgios that the public love to deride had a 2-0 lead in his second round match against Andreas Seppi on Wednesday night, but conceded the next three sets to exit his home grand slam in unceremonious fashion.

The Canberra-native was subsequently booed off the court by the partisan crowd, and the tennis prodigy believes that a change in his habits away from competition is needed if he is to fulfill his immense talent.

Kyrgios’ monotonically sombre interview could be an indication that tennis might be becoming an afterthought for the innately gifted 21-year-old, and the ever-enterprising team at Sportsbet have that base covered too after opening a ‘What’s next for Nick Kyrgios?’ market.

Adding to his already impressive car collection is the favourite at $4, while a career in the NBA seems like an unlikely scenario for Kyrgios at the $101 quote.
