Sheiswhatsheis to run in Tatt’s Mile
Plans to run Sheiswhatsheis in the Townsville Cup have been shelved and the talented mare will try to win a stakes race at Doomben instead.
Sheiswhatsheis has won six races and more than $311,000 as well as being placed three times in stakes races.
Trainer Tony Gollan would dearly love to win black type with the mare who has been consistent during her three racing seasons for his stable.
Sheiswhatsheis and Pindan Pearl will represent Brisbane’s premier trainer in Saturday’s Listed Tattersall’s Mile, the last stakes race of the Brisbane season.
Connections had earlier wanted to run Sheiswhatsheis in their hometown Townsville Cup (2000m) on July 29 but after talking with Gollan they elected to stay in Brisbane.
“She has shown she can run 2000 metres with her third in the Toowoomba Cup. But she is very good at Doomben and around the 1600 metre mark,” Gollan said.
“Hopefully, we will get a late season Doomben surface with a bit of the sting out it.”
Sheiswhatsheis came back from an eight-week break to win a 1600m-open handicap at Doomben last Saturday week, beating Pindan Pearl by 5-1/4 lengths.
Queensland’s Glenlogan Park Stud bought Pindan Pearl at the Chairman’s Sale in Sydney in April and is hoping she can earn some black-type before she heads to the broodmare barn.
“She is owned by Glenlogan Park who are very keen to get black-type with her before she goes to stud,” Gollan said.
“She has had no luck in her races since coming from the south and she does to deserve to earn black-type.”
There were 15 nominations taken on Monday, including the Chris Waller-trained Marenostro who is also entered for a race in Sydney and scheduled to run in a Rosehill barrier trial on Tuesday.
