Round 11 of the 2022 NRL Premiership will conclude when the Cronulla Sharks travel to the Gold Coast and take on the Titans on Sunday afternoon.
The Titans have named an unchanged line-up following their extra time win over the Dragons. Meanwhile, coach Craig Fitzgibbon has made a host of changes for the Sharks. Nicho Hynes returns to the halfback role, while Teig Wilton and Royce Hunt will come off the bench in place of captain Wade Graham and Aiden Tolman.
The Sharks’ thumping loss to the Raiders, who lost three players to the sin bin, in Magic Round has been the catalyst for those changes. Will that be enough to shift the Sharks back to winning ways?
In the short time the Titans have been in the NRL, the Sharks have played them on 23 occasions, winning 14 times with one draw. In the last two games alone, the Sharks have won both games by a combined 68 points to 28.

Despite being a young and exciting squad, the Titans have only managed victories this season against the Warriors, Tigers and Dragons, who have all struggled this season. The Sharks, on the other hand, have shown they are a potential premiership threat with Hynes steering the ship. Wet conditions on the Gold Coast will make point scoring difficult, but the Sharks have enough firepower to win and cover the -6.5 line at $1.90 with Marantelli Bet.
The return of Hynes to the halves will be the catalyst for direction and point-scoring for the Sharks. Since the victory over the Sea Eagles, the Sharks have struggled with their attack compared to weeks prior. The left edge of the Sharks had struggled of late, as both Siosifa Talakai and Ronaldo Mulitalo have not seen as much of the ball as they’re used to. Look for Hynes to target both Talakai and Mulitalo in attack as he shifts the ball to them early, isolating them with Titans opposing defenders and giving them every opportunity to score. At $2.45 and $1.95 respectively, Talakai and Mulitalo are great value to score at any time during the match.
The Sharks will be looking to respond following their disappointing performance against the Raiders. They will push to control this game in the entirety. The Sharks are paying $2.35 to win both halves of this clash, which is a great value play. While point-scoring will be difficult in the wet weather, alternative total points markets can give you $1.65 for under 42.5 points, which looks a smart bet.

Key matchup: AJ Brimson vs Matt Moylan
Both these five-eighths’ strengths are in their running games playing eyes-up footy. At the peaks of their powers, both players can be as destructive as the best in the competition. AJ Brimson’s impact this year was felt almost immediately in one of his first touches as he set up a try for Beau Fermor, while Matt Moylan has scored one try and set up four. The winner of this match will be decided by the better of these two running halves, who can attack the game more and who can create precious points for their side in difficult conditions.
