Round 18 of the 2024 NRL Premiership continues on Friday night as the struggling Titans take on the Sharks in Coffs Harbour.
Cronulla enter this clash as $1.44 favourites with Bet365 despite two losses in a row, including a one-point defeat to the Bulldogs at Accor Stadium last Friday. In a low-scoring game, the Sharks came from 12-0 down to take the match to golden point, but it was the Bulldogs who kicked an 83rd-minute field goal to win it.
With four losses from their past five games, the Sharks have fallen down to third on the ladder. As a result, their premiership odds have drifted out to $11 with leading Australian bookmakers.
There is just one change for the Sharks this week as Daniel Atkinson replaces Sione Katoa (concussion) on the wing. Prop Tom Hazleton has been named to start in place of Toby Rudolph, who moves to the bench.
The Titans had a bye in round 17, but the week prior they secured a record 60-point win over the Warriors. Winger Alofiana Khan-Pereira led the way with four tries, while five-eighth Jayden Campbell scored a club-record 26 points from 11 goals and a try.
Working their way up to 15th with the win, the Titans are now six points outside the top eight. Online bookmakers have them pegged as $2.85 outsiders for this clash, while they are paying $3.50 to finish with the wooden spoon.
Titans five-eighth Jayden Campbell will miss this week after suffering a hand injury against the Warriors, but AJ Brimson returns in his place. Moeaki Fotuaika is back from Maroons duty, while Jojo Fifita returns from illness. Jacob Alick and Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui are the omissions.

Sharks v Titans match predictions
Despite Cronulla’s recent poor form, they should still be far too strong for the Titans. The Sharks have won the past nine matches between the sides, and with the home-ground advantage, they should be good enough to clear the 7.5-point handicap at $1.91 with leading online bookmakers.
Despite their inconsistency, the Titans have regularly been involved in high-scoring contests. With four of their last five matches going over the total points line, it should be another try-fest against one of the top attacking sides in the NRL. Back this one to go over the total points line of 47.5 points at $1.90 with Neds.
Sharks five-eighth Braydon Trindall has emerged as a key try-scoring option in recent weeks. He has scored four times in his last five matches, bringing his season tally to six. Facing one of the worst defences in the NRL, $3.40 is great value for Trindall to cross at some stage.
