The South East Melbourne Phoenix will be out for revenge when they take on the Sydney Kings at John Cain Arena on Thursday night in round 15 of the 2020-21 NBL season.
The Kings defeated the Phoenix by seven points last week when they faced off in a high-scoring clash at Qudos Bank Arena.
This match will mark the third time in as many rounds that these two teams do battle, as South East Melbourne downed Sydney when they clashed in round 13.
Didi Louzada played his final game with the Kings in their round 14 win over the Cairns Taipans, as the 21-year-old will join the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA.
The Kings need to find a replacement for the young perimeter guard, who scored 28 points against the Phoenix last week in Sydney.
Given these two teams sit third and fourth in the NBL standings and in the outright markets at online bookmakers, this is one clash that should not be missed.
SEM Phoenix vs Sydney Kings NBL betting predictions
Over 178.5 total points
Most NBL matches in the past two rounds went under the total points line, but the clashes between the Phoenix and the Kings both easily surpassed the mark. Coming off a match that delivered 187 points, these teams know how to push the pace against each other. With Mitch Creek coming off the bench since the start of April, the Phoenix have averaged just under 90 points per game. Go the overs.
Over 178.5 total points
South East Melbourne Phoenix -2.5
Playing in front of their home fans in Melbourne should give the Phoenix a huge boost, which is an important factor in tipping them this week. The Kings are 4-6 on the road, while the Phoenix are 7-4 at home, proving they enjoy playing in front of their members. South East Melbourne should get the job done this Thursday at John Cain Arena.
SEM Phoenix -2.5
