NRL Round 12 preview: Sea Eagles vs Storm
Friday night NRL action wraps up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney with the ‘Battle of Brookvale’ between the Manly Sea Eagles and Melbourne Storm at 4 Pines Park.
The Sea Eagles will be looking to remedy their disappointing one-point loss to the Broncos in Brisbane, and a win over the Storm could launch them back into the top eight on the NRL Ladder.
At the same time, the Storm bounced back from a loss to the Sharks in Melbourne a fortnight ago to belt the Eels by 32 points in Magic Round and cement their second-place position on the ladder.
Manly coach Anthony Seibold has been forced to make a change with Matthew Lodge (biceps) out injured. In his place, Nathan Brown will return from a quadriceps injury via the bench.
Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy has the good fortune to welcome back veteran half Jahrome Hughes from a calf injury to replace Cameron Munster (groin) in an otherwise unchanged line-up.

Sea Eagles v Storm predictions
In the last seven meetings between these sides, the home team has covered the points line each time. Also, the Sea Eagles have won five of their last seven games at 4 Pines Park. With the Brookvale faithful behind them, Manly look a great value bet with Neds to secure an unlikely win (+125).
Storm five-eighth Munster did not play the opening three matches of the 2024 season due to a groin injury, and two of those games ended as low-scoring affairs with less than 26 points scored. Meanwhile, the Sea Eagles showed last week that without star fullback Tom Trbojevic, points can be hard to come by. Expect this clash to be a hard-fought clash with less than 43.5 points scored (-104.17).
Reuben Garrick’s form has been phenomenal for the Sea Eagles, scoring five tries in the past four weeks. In tandem with Manly skipper Daly Cherry-Evans on the right edge, he will be attacking Tyran Wishart in an unfamiliar halves pairing for the Storm, so expect Garrick’s try-scoring form to continue (+160).
