The Big Bash League finals continue this Saturday with a replay of the BBL 11 decider between the Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers at Optus Stadium. These have been by far the two best sides in the competition, but only one can win on Sunday and book their spot in the BBL 12 Final on February 4.

Both of these sides have been near-faultless leading into the BBL finals. The exception is the Scorchers’ loss to the Sixers in Sydney; however, Perth will present entirely new conditions that heavily suit the home side. Will they be able to take full advantage of the home ground to get this much-needed win?

As solid a squad the Sixers have with Steve Smith opening the batting and their incredibly well-rounded bowling attack, the Scorchers are much better suited to the playing conditions of Optus Stadium. They should use their narrow loss to the Sixers a fortnight ago as motivation to win on Saturday ($1.70).

Cameron Bancroft has been in scintillating form for the Scorchers at the top of the batting order. The former Test opener can play both traditional and unconventional shots, making him a nightmare to bowl to. Bancroft will again be the key to the success of the Scorchers’ batting innings, as he will likely have the best of the conditions and be the side’s highest runscorer ($4.25).

Should he be dismissed early, the Scorchers side is so heavily stacked with top-order batters that anyone can score 70+ runs. The team is incredible at building partnerships that often result in more than just one player putting a big score on the board. If Bancroft is removed from the crease early, the Scorchers batters will step up, meaning Perth will be the team with the top run scorer of the match ($2.85).

The battle at the top of the order between these two will be unlike any other in the competition. Smith is scoring runs at will and Bancroft couldn’t love batting in Perth more. Whoever can adapt to the conditions better will go a long way toward winning this match for their side.
